Kleinsmith & Kies Construction was founded through the partnership of Francois Kleinsmith and Andre Kies, two experienced construction professionals with complementary expertise and a shared commitment to delivering quality construction projects.
Established in Cape Town, the company draws on decades of combined experience across a diverse range of sectors and project scales throughout South Africa. We are guided by our core values of integrity, collaboration, accountability and excellence, which shape the way we work with our clients, consultants, partners and teams.

Leadership
Francois Kleinsmith — Director
As founder and Director of CTS Projects, Francois has built a career spanning more than two decades in the South African construction industry, delivering projects across the residential, commercial, industrial and development sectors. His experience encompasses project management, construction planning, client liaison, contract administration and the coordination of multidisciplinary project teams. He has overseen the successful delivery of numerous high-value developments across Gauteng and surrounding regions, ranging from luxury private residences to large-scale commercial, retail and industrial facilities.
Andre Kies — Director
With extensive hands-on experience managing complex construction projects throughout South Africa, Andre has developed a diverse portfolio spanning the commercial, retail, industrial, hospitality, healthcare and luxury residential sectors — including major shopping centres and developments exceeding R300 million. As a construction programmer by background, Andre places strong emphasis on early-stage project planning, recognising that accurate sequencing, foresight and programme discipline are critical to successful delivery.
Janco van der Westhuizen — Senior Professional QS / Commercial Manager
Janco holds a BSc in Quantity Surveying from the University of Pretoria and provides specialist support in cost management, estimating and quantity surveying. His experience includes tender preparation, valuations, variation pricing, subcontractor management, cost reporting and project financial control across residential, commercial, industrial and institutional developments.
